DELPH WATERSPORTS CENTRE CHRISTMAS SWIM 2024.

Today we had our 5th DELPH WATERSPORTS CENTRE CHRISTMAS SWIM Event. This was the most popular to date, and we had a great attendance of swimmers and spectators.

The water temperature was 8.7°C, which all swimmers coped with very well.

For the first time in living memory, we had more male than female swimmers.

The Men's Freestyle event was won by Mike Carter, followed by Alan Sweatman in second place and Colin Hughes in third place. There was a very high standard of swimming in all events.

The Women's Freestyle event was won by Amy Simnor, followed by Siobhan Eccleston in second place and Sue Catterall in third place.

The Men's Breaststroke event was won by Graham Hammond from Ton Van Der Linde in second place.

Our twenty strong field consisted of a mixture of seasoned swimmers and newcomers enjoying their first season of open water swimming. This is the seventh open water swim event we've organised in 2024.

A big thank you to all who helped and supported, particularly Bob Sanders for providing safety support in his Kayak.
