Late summer 2 & 1 mile swim

DELPH WATERSPORTS CENTRE TWO MILE AND ONE MILE FUN SWIM EVENTS.

WOMEN'S EVENTS.

The Women's two Mile Freestyle event was won by Lucy Brook from Marie Calderbank in second and Tracy Haggart in third place.

Sue Catterall was fourth and Tracy Slater fifth.

The Women's One Mile Breaststroke event was won by Hannah Barton with Alison Elisabeth Mather second and Jacqueline Jordan third.

The Women's One Mile Freestyle event was won by Amy Simnor with Debbie Schofield second and Shirley Fox third. Samantha Ruscoe was fourth from Pauline Cooper in fifth place.

It was good to welcome so many newcomers to the event, many of whom achieved personal best distances. Headwind Hilly Heather achieved her first Mile swim today.

Bob Sanders put in an excellent performance in the safety kayak.

MEN'S EVENTS.

Congratulations to all of the men who participated in the Delph Watersports Centre Two Mile and One Mile Fun Swim Events. The water temperature was 18.1°C.

We had a mixture of regular Delph Watersports Centre and Neil Thomson Swimming stalwarts and complete newcomers. All excelled!

The Men's Two Mile Swim was won by multiple previous champion James O'Neill from Chris David Barry in second and Andrew O'Neill in third. Ironman triathlete Mark Haggart was fourth.

The Men's One Mile swim was won by newcomer Louis Schofield from Delph newcomer but Ironman competitor Jonny Wignall in second and newcomer Stuart Kirby in third. The next three places were taken by three newcomers Dave Ryan, Graham Hammond and Dion Collinge.
